Changes to IQ Customised Qualifications
As centres may be aware, due to recent regulatory changes all awarding organisations, including IQ, are no longer permitted to award non-regulated customised qualifications where they also fall within the scope of their regulated qualifications.
As a result of these changes there may be additional demands placed on currently accredited customised qualifications.
Customised qualifications are more likely to require regulation if:
- The qualification has a similar title to a qualification within the IQ regulated qualifications portfolio
- The subject area falls in to the scope of our regulated activity
- The qualification will be offered in the UK
Over the coming weeks, IQ will be reviewing all approved customised qualifications and will be contacting centres to ask whether you intend to continue offering the qualifications, and to discuss the outcome of our decision as to whether they need to be regulated. We aim to complete this for all centres by the 1st of September 2015.
If we decide that your customised qualification falls under the regulatory framework, IQ will work with you to propose a project plan and quote to accredit the qualification on the national framework. In the meantime, if you have any queries please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
