Development Spotlight: Cleaning Principles

In this month's development spotlight, we take a look at some upcoming qualifications within the Facilities Management sector.

The first development, which should be available for registrations in the next two weeks, is the IQ Level 2 Certificate in Cleaning Principles. This qualification is aimed at individuals looking to develop their knowledge and understanding of cleaning and the content is generic, allowing it to be applied to a wide range of cleaning roles.

The qualification also forms the knowledge component of the Level 2 (Intermediate) Apprenticeship in Cleaning and Environmental Services: Cleaning and Support Services Pathway, alongside the IQ Level 2 Award in Cleaning and Support Service Skills, which will give IQ a third core apprenticeship in this rapidly expanding sector.

A number of the units from this qualification will also be available as standalone qualifications and we hope to have these available to centres shortly. These include the:

By developing these smaller awards in conjunction with the certificate, IQ hopes to provide centres with more flexibility when delivering this training. Students who prefer a more gradual progression will be able to earn the individual awards on their route to earning the certificate, whilst those looking for specialist training only can simply achieve the relevant single unit award.

For more information on these qualifications, or to gain approval for any of our facilities qualifications, please get in touch.
