Innovation Code Fund launched to support skill needs

The Innovation Code (the Code) is now live and available for providers to use. The Code is one of the commitments featured in “New Challenges, New Chances” and is intended to be used to support providers in responding to local business and employment needs.

Six learning aims are available to be used as part of the Code. Providers can use these learning aims where they are developing and delivering provision, in conjunction with local business and employers, that addresses current or future skills needs.

The Code can be applied for a period of up to 12 months and during that time providers will also need to work with an Ofqual-recognised awarding organisation so that the provision can be migrated onto the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).

Providers wishing to use the Code must be on the Agency's Register of Training Organisations and the provision involved needs to be delivered within their existing allocation – there is no additional funding for using the Code. Normal learner eligibility and entitlement rules will apply.
