IQ Pledges Support to Philippines

Industry Qualifications are pleased to reveal that we will be diverting 1% of all of our revenue, from the date of Typhoon Haiyan’s impact until the end of the year, to support relief efforts in the Philippines.

The Philippines were devastated earlier this month when a category 5 super typhoon was unleashed upon the country, causing widespread death and destruction.

IQ commenced offering qualifications in the country earlier this year and expects to play a significant role in raising living standards through education in the future.

Raymond Clarke, Chief Executive of IQ said “I am delighted that the shareholders in IQ have overwhelmingly agreed to support this initiative. I was in the Philippines earlier in the autumn and have benefitted from the warmth and generosity of its people. Whilst our contribution will be small in the scale of what is needed, it is a gesture of solidarity in a time of need, and we hope to play a more meaningful role with our local partners as the country recovers from this tragedy”.

It is intended that the funds are released to a reputable charity early in the New Year as reconstruction work gets under way. IQ is also appealing to our centres to get involved in the relief efforts. You can do this through your own fundraising efforts, or if you are willing, you can choose to pay a 30p surcharge on certificates to the end of the year, which can then be added to our total.
