Bernard Zakary - Head of Quality & Compliance

Bernard Zakary, formerly of QCA, BECTA, EDI and Pearson, joined on the 1st July as Head of Quality and Compliance. Bernie has extensive experience in Quality, Operational Systems, Educational IT and Business Development and takes over from Andy Wilson, who has conducted the role on a consultancy basis since inception. Andy has played a central role in the development of IQ and will continue to oversee the development of the non-regulated qualifications framework. Bernie will lead a new Quality and Compliance team with a clear mandate to build upon the excellent reputation that IQ has developed for quality.

The Qualification Development team has been further strengthened with the addition of both Mary Tonnison-Morgan, formerly of Asset Skills and WAMITAB, who joins IQ as a Qualifications Development Executive and Fiona Owens, who has joined IQ from Skills for Security as the Senior Administrator for the Development team.

Jessica Teale, a further recruit from Skills for Security, joins as Operations Executive for IQ Verify, and will play a lead role in supporting IQ Verify General Manager, Bill Croft in the development of the IQ certification business.

With the re-launch of the Institute of Administrative Management (IAM) in July, former SAFE Operations Supervisor Laura Jackson has been recruited as IAM Membership Coordinator and will oversee the re-launch of the Institute. Laura will play a leading role in developing membership services and the membership base as we move into 2015 and the centenary of the Institute.

Chief Executive, Raymond Clarke said, “We are delighted by the calibre and experience of staff joining the IQ team. This is a key phase in our development as we broaden both the range of services and geographic coverage of IQ and its associated companies, and our ability to attract such people speaks volumes for the strength and future direction of the organisation. Over the coming twelve months we will see a series of bold and innovative initiatives from IQ and our new team members will be critical to the success of these developments”.
