Functional Skills Reform

Reformed FS Image

Functional Skills have been going under a reform over the past few years. The reform was aimed to make the qualifications more robust and valid with the changing trend of what is deemed 'functional' within the workplace and to meet employer needs. The qualification reform will only apply to maths and English functional skills. Reformed Functional Skills will be Ofqual regulated.

From 1st September 2019, centres will be able to register learners onto the reformed Functional Skills, where there will be brand new assessments on the subject content. The subject content has been updated with fresh content aiming to engage and challenge learners. For further information regarding the reform and what has changed, please click here.
