Health & Social Care
The Health and Social Care sector includes a wide range of roles, with different skills required and varying levels of demand. The industry includes the work which takes place within hospitals, care homes, nursing homes, hospices and dental practices. Thus, this is one of the largest employment sectors in the UK, the main employer being the National Health Service (NHS), but positions also exist in the private and voluntary sector. However, it can also be one of the most demanding.
Those looking to enter the industry must ensure they are prepared for the high level of commitment that Health and Social Care entails. The range of different working environments does enable you to work anywhere in the country but it does mean potentially stressful and unsociable hours. In order to enter the industry, being qualified and prepared for the job is essential.
