About this Qualification

The IQ IAM Level 6 Certificate in Strategic Management (QCF) develops learners' knowledge, understanding and skills in the area of strategic management. They will gain experience of conducting a strategic analysis and understand how to formulate and implement organisational strategy. This will enable them to assess the role of administrative management in strategy formulation and implementation. The main objective of the qualification is supporting a role in the workplace.

Learners can progress to further management qualifications or to higher education.

There are no formal entry requirements. However, learners should be able to work at level 5 or above or have equivalent work experience in the management area.

Centres must be approved by IQ in order to offer this qualification.

Independent candidates

Some candidates choose to prepare for these assessments by studying as an independent student, with no support from a tuition centre.  Such a learning strategy is not recommended because there is evidence to suggest that the quality of learning is greatly enhanced by tutor and peer group support at this level.
