The IQ Level 2 Certificate in Delivering Community Safety Activities is the competence component of the Intermediate Apprenticeship in Community Safety in the Community Safety (England) framework. The qualification is designed for those wishing to join Fire and Rescue Services or Local Authorities as a Community Safety (Fire) Advisor or other similar role dealing with and advising the public and community on aspects of fire prevention and protection.

Structure
To achieve the qualification learners must achieve a minimum of 32 credits in total; 16 from the Mandatory units and a minimum of 16 further credits from the Optional units
Assessment
Assessment for this qualification is by portfolio, internally set and marked and externally quality assured by IQ. Assessment must be in accordance with the Skills for Justice Assessment Strategy for Justice and Community Safety Sector October 2010 (Appendix A) and the Skills for Care and Development Assessment Principles (Appendix B). All assessment criteria must be met and mapped and the location of the evidence indicated in the achievement record.
All learning outcomes in this qualification must be assessed using methods appropriate to the assessment of knowledge, understanding, and competence; these can be assessed by a variety of methods including:
- Direct observation
- Expert witness testimony
- Work products
- Records
- Reflective accounts
- Professional discussion
Learner Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. However, learners should be able to work at level two or above and be proficient in the use of English Language.
Tutor Requirements
All trainers/assessors and internal verifiers delivering this qualification must meet the requirements as per the Skills for Justice Assessment Strategy for Justice and Community Safety Sector October 2010. See Appendix A at the end of this document.
Centre Requirements
Centres must be approved by IQ to deliver this qualification. Given the nature of the qualification, involving learners visiting the public in their own homes, centres must be able to demonstrate that they have robust procedures in place to minimise risks to, and ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of learners whilst working in the community and in private homes.
