The IQ Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Glass Processing is a competence qualification for individuals working to produce products from glass and related materials in the glass processing sector. It includes a range of traditional techniques for cutting, shaping, assembling and finishing products. It is intended for experienced Glass Processors, able to address a wide range of issues, including the identification and rectification of technical problems and working with a wide range of glass types. A range of optional units is available to meet the needs of learners in a range of job roles. Objectives include meeting relevant programmes of learning, supporting a role in the workplace and giving learners personal growth and engagement in learning.
This qualification is the competence element of the Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Glass Industry Occupations (Level 3), Pathway 6: Glass Processor.

Structure
To achieve this qualification learners have to complete a minimum of 37 credits must be achieved in total; 20 credits from the 4 units in Mandatory Group A, a minimum 10 credits from Optional Units Group B and a minimum 7 credits from Optional Units Group C.
Assessment
All units in this qualification are assessed by portfolio. Evidence for this qualification must come from the learners consistent performance in the workplace and must meet the requirements of the Proskills Assessment Strategy (Appendix A located at the end of this document). Further guidance for each unit can be found in the assessment guidance relevant to each unit. All Assessment Criteria must be met in each relevant unit to achieve this qualification. All Assessment criteria of selected units must be met.
This qualification is not graded successful learners achieve a pass
An Achievement Record for this qualification which includes the forms necessary to map and claim knowledge and competence is available to download from the IQ website.
Assessment for this qualification must also meet the requirements for Additional Requirements for Qualifications that use the title NVQ within the QCF see appendix B.
Learner Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. However, learners should be able to work at level 2 or above.
Tutor Requirements
All trainers/assessors and internal verifiers delivering this qualification must meet the requirements as per the Proskills assessment strategy). See Appendix A located at the end of this document.
Centre Requirements
Centres must be approved by IQ in order to offer this qualification
