The IQ Level 2 Award in CCTV Operations (Public Space Surveillance) (QCF) is a qualification for individuals who work or would like to work as a CCTV Operator. It is based on the SIA Specification for Learning and Qualifications for CCTV Control Room Operators (PSS) and successful completion of the qualification enables learners to apply for an SIA licence for CCTV Operators.

The qualification has 3 mandatory units and learners must achieve 4 credits to gain certification.
Unit 1 and 2 are assessed by a multiple choice exam.
Unit 3 is assessed by Practical Demonstration/Assignment internally assessed and marked and quality assured by IQ. A workbook and guidance for the assessment for the practical unit 3 is available on the website. Please see guidance on page 19 for suggested CCTV scenarios and the quality assurance process.

Assessment for unit 1 and 2 must be carried out under exam conditions, and a full SIA Identification check must be completed. Please see the IQ web site for details of examination requirements, the list of SIA acceptable forms of identification is included at the end of this specification.
There are no formal entry requirements. However, learners should be able to work at level 1 or above and be proficient in the use of English Language.

To be able to deliver and assess the learning outcomes and assessment criteria of unit 3, centres must have at the minimum a control room environment and a CCTV system with at least two PTZ cameras and associated recording and monitoring equipment.
