Description

This unit is intended for people who want to work in the private security industry and who require an SIA licence to practise. It covers those areas of content that are common across different sub-sectors: door supervision, security guarding, CCTV operations, vehicle immobilisation, and cash and valuables in transit.

Assessment

This unit is about knowledge and is based on the SIA Specification for Learning and Qualification for Common Security Industry Knowledge; consequently, assessment is through standard multiple choice examination (externally set and marked by IQ) under examination conditions. Trainers may not invigilate. A full SIA Identification check must be carried out at the start of the examination as this is part of a licensed linked qualification.

This unit is based on the Security Industry Authority’s Specification for Learning and Qualification for Common Security Industry Knowledge and is a common mandatory unit across various sectors; learners undertaking this unit can be taking or may go on to take Security Guarding , Door Supervision, CCTV or Cash and Valuables in Transit.
