Skills CFA

Skills CFA is a registered charity promoting skills and qualifications in the workplace. They develop standards, apprenticeships and training programmes for a wide range of business skills across the UK.

Skills CFA are are responsible for overseeing the development of the National Occupational Standards (NOS) alongside the promotion of NVQs and SVQs for the following sectors:

  • Enterprise
  • Governance
  • Human Resources & Recruitment
  • Industrial Relations

Furthermore, they provide apprenticeship frameworks suitable for 11 million employees across all sectors of the UK. The apprenticeship frameworks provide on-the-job training coupled with structured, individual technical learning programmes which then lead on to nationally recognised qualifications.

Finally, they undertake continuous research into the changing nature of the occupations they represent as well as providing a range of consultancy services.


SFEDI is the Government recognised UK Standards Setting Body for Business Support and Business Enterprise. Run by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, SFEDI researches leading practice, sets standards, principles and guidelines.

SFEDI are dedicated to finding what works best in training, learning opportunities and support to ensure prospective and existing entrepreneurs and owner managers have the very best chance of surviving and thriving. The acronym formally stands for Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative.

They are a UK wide organisation that aims to be like a ‘Consumers Association’ of learning and skills development available to prospective and existing entrepreneurs.

Whilst all the entrepreneurs involved in SFEDI are independent of government, SFEDI is also recognised by government as the standards setting body for training and qualifications for those thinking about, setting up or running their own business and all those providing business support.

The Institute of Administrative Management (IAM)

The IAM is the oldest professional body for administration and business management in the UK.

The Institute of Administrative Management (IAM) is the oldest management Institute in the UK having inspired professional business managers and administrators since 1915.

Their focus is on developing professional administrators, administrative managers, and business leaders. They do this through membership services which are accompanied by qualification programmes (delivered through IQ) to help individuals develop skills, build successful careers, and fulfil their potential.

Members include administrators, personal assistants, virtual assistants, office managers, administrative managers as well as business leaders.
